University of Southern California, Institute for Creative Technologies

The USC Institute for Creative Technologies is dedicated to developing simulation environments for military training and education. When USC decided to relocate ICT to a brand new LEED certified building, they worked with Spinitar to implement state of the art technology that was extremely functional for the end user and could provide a migration path for future growth and scalability.

The screening room is a 135 seat theater used for conferences, presentations, meetings and tours. It features a Christie 10,000 lumen High Definition DLP Projector that projects onto a perforated Stewart projection screen with QSC speakers installed behind. The smaller, Executive Theater consists of a 70” HD NEC LCD display with a 5.1 Tannoy surround sound system. The hallway between the two theaters feature eight 60” Sharp HD displays in portrait mode.

The Events room for large meeting and training sessions is equipped with two 5,000 lumen ceiling mounted Mitsubishi projectors that project onto motorized Da-Lite projection screens. The Conference Room is a mid-sized space with two 60” sharp displays, both on Chief articulating mounts. All areas are controlled through AMX Touch Panels.

St. Joseph Hospital Digital Signage

St. Joseph Hospital, a premier Orange County, California medical facility regarded for its fine use of technology in patient care, chose Spinitar to implement one of the most unique digital signage applications seen within the healthcare industry. St. Joseph needed a way to centrally manage and disseminate real time patient tracking information for their Pre-Op, Clean Core and Post Anesthesia Care Unit.

The solution for St. Joseph involved the use of their current patient management system as the content to drive the hands free updates to the digital signage platform. This was accomplished through back end programming which allowed for the real time data transfer while adhering to HIPA guidelines. The patient tracking can be seen on seven displays throughout the surgical floor. This new system has allowed St. Joseph to have up to the minute patient status information which has increased their efficiencies in room turnover and allowed for better customer care and service.

The Frontier Project - LEED Platinum Facility

Its purpose was to specifically showcase sustainable building practices and to assist in educating resident consumers, commercial builders, and sustainable advocates regarding the latest methods and technologies in water, energy and site conservation.The Frontier Project chose to integrate an audiovisual system that could communicate the various sustainable features as well as provide a self-guided interactive learning experience for their visitors.

The solution for Cucamonga Valley Water District included multiple LCD displays, projectors, sound systems and touch panel kiosks to convey the purpose of the space. The AV system disseminates real time building performance information in a format that students, local residents and industry professionals can understand. The innovative AV systems not only track building performance, but also provide visitors with the opportunity to learn about commercial and residential sustainable building features as well as products and service providers.

al2430-2ph New Classroom Security & Sound Reinforcement System

The Atlas Learn AL2430 system is an in-classroom sound reinforcement solution designed for K-12 and higher education facilities or where a room constrained public address system is required. This complete audio package consists of amplifier/receiver, wireless microphones, and docking station. Together they enable teachers and students to walk freely around the room with the infrared microphones/system control units and project their voices through installed speakers.

With even sound distribution, lessons can be heard easily no matter where students are seated. By reinforcing sound within the classroom you not only raise student’s attention and concentration, but teachers no longer need to strain their voice and can easily integrate with multimedia teaching tools such as computers and DVD players by controlling audio from a single source. In addition, priority paging and emergency notification allows you to inform other locations of the need for outside assistance.

al2430 Pendant ir Transmitter

The versatile and ergonomic AL2430 pendant/handheld microphone transmitter allows both teachers and students to move freely without bulky electronics or annoying wires. The dual mode transmitter allows teachers to control microphone volume, overall system volume and mute settings with side mounted soft touch controls. In addition, when “PANIC” and “MODE” controls are pressed simultaneously a contact closure is triggered on the AL2430 receiver which may be integrated with most any intercom or IP based notification system to signal an emergency condition in the classroom. The transmitter can also be configured for “student” mode operation so that all controls are bypassed.

al2430 Integrated Receiver/Amplifier

The compact, ergonomically designed AL2430 receiver/amplifier provides intuitive control of all system components. It is equipped with several inputs in order to accommodate most any multimedia source, eliminating the need for dedicated AV systems and saving you valuable space in the classroom.

Microphone Charging Station

AL2430 charging station includes a dock section to charge two pendant transmitters and four AA rechargeable batteries simultaneously. The unit may be wall mounted via integral key hole slots or shelf mounted for easy accessibility.

Infrared Dome Sensors

Up to three infrared dome sensors may be used with the AL2430 receiver/amplifier (two are included with the system) along with two 10 meter sections of UL listed coaxial cable terminated with professional “F” connectors.

University of California, Irvine

University of California, Irvine Media Arts Building/Contemporary Arts Center is a state of the art five story, 59,492 square foot facility. It was constructed to house new types of technology-driven instruction, research and performance space. It features digital arts instruction labs, a motion capture studio, visual design studio, rehearsal halls, art gallery, mixed-media performance space, a sound design studio lab and offices.

UCI turned to Spinitar to implement an Information Technology Infrastructure to support today’s growing use of technology and technology driven applications. Spinitar installed a copper and fiber optic cable plant utilizing Category 6 copper cabling, multimode fiber optic cable, singlemode fiber optic cable, and high pair count outside plant copper cable. The approximate total of Category 6 data cable installed in the facility is 250,000 feet with more than 1,750 data cables. This new facility was tied into the existing University’s network via high speed fiber optic cables from the existing music building. The installation included the build out of a new Main Distribution Frame (MDF), that houses the terminations for the copper and fiber optic cables that tie into the University’s existing voice and data network. From the MDF, high speed fiber optic connections were run to a total of nine new Intermediate Distribution Frames (IDF). These IDF’s house the voice and data cabling that connects the locations within all other areas of the facility into the University’s network, facilities network, and the Art network.
